Foam is used to counteract the influence of gravity. To much weight and our thrusters may not be able to bring the ROV back to the surface of the water.
Thrusters are used for propulsion. There are many configurations. The ROV's we build on this site will include two in the rear for left, right, and forward propulsion and one for up and down control.
Cameras are used so we can see what we are exploring.
The tether is basically an electronic leash. It powers, communicates and allows for fail safe ROV retrieval.
